Barrel and a Heap is a fantastic little Etsy shop run by Carissa Halbmeier. It features adorable cloth diaper covers, quilted baby blankets and burp cloths. I’ve long been a fan of her shop, mostly since her diaper covers were so stinking cute. I love, love, love her prints and completely geek out over her uber adorable robot diaper cover, which I’ve always thought would be perfect for my little robot baby.
Lucky for me, Carissa agreed to be a sponsor for our giveaway and sent me my absolute, all-time favorite Etsy diaper cover to review. I have to say, it’s all I dreamed it would be.
Barrel and a Heap diaper covers are sized diapers with snaps, which come in a soft fabric with a PUL layer on the inside. I love this diaper because it has a trim, snug fit without being tight or leaving marks on Isla’s skin. Unlike some of the other diaper covers we use, this fabric is not unpleasant to touch, especially if you have dry fingers from washing mountains of baby bottles and pump parts like I do. The snaps are easy to adjust, since this is a sized diaper and you only have to adjust in the waist.
This diaper cover also really does it’s job: everything you want to stay in the diaper cover does. We’ve had a couple of massive blowouts so far and nothing has escaped!
The fact that the diaper cover is also ADORABLE? Icing on the cake.
I’ve mentioned before that we’re huge fans of prefolds in our house, so we used our Barrel and a Heap cover over a simple Indian cotton prefold closed with a snappi. We were able to reuse the diaper cover a few times before finally throwing it in the diaper pail. In all, I’m so happy to add this to our stash. It’s cute, well-made and affordable at $15/cover.
If you’d like to buy one of these fantastic Barrel and a Heap cloth diaper covers, you can check out the Etsy shop and pick your favorite from an array of fun prints and colors. Each diaper cover is $15.
